Tony & Audrey : Engaged

Great news before I get into this post. Finally a new blog is coming! I just want to give you all a heads up that it's coming soon! Now back to Tony & Audrey.

This past weekend I had the best time shooting Tony & Audrey's engagement session down at Balboa Island. They are getting married in October and I can't wait for their wedding! There's something so charming about these two that I can't put my finger on it. The way they giggle when they look at each other, even puts a smile on my face. Here are some of my favorites from their fun engagement session.

the [b] school

This past Sunday, I was invited down to [b]eckers pad for a little BBQ and sneak peek at the new the [b] school. First and foremost, as many of you know, I say it like it is. And to be honest, after hearing about the [b] school, I didn't know what to expect, as many of you out there were probably thinking the same thing.

After seeing it for the first time and being able to navigate through the beta release, I was blown away by all of the cool and useful things that us photographers can use. Actually, I'm still in shock and I can't wait!

the [b] school gave me the same feeling when I switched from a PC to a MAC. Sorry PC users, but you MAC users will understand that in the [b] school, everything makes sense and it's super easy to navigate. Ok, I'm getting a bit technical, but you will just have to wait and see.

Trust me when I say that the [b] school will change the industry forever! I know, a bold statement, but I have confidence that it will.

And if you're still confused on what I'm talking about, to sum it up, the [b] school is a new online way that photographers can network. And if you're wondering why networking is so important, than I recommend you checking out the video below and getting involved by clicking here.

I'll be there for the release and I hope to see you there too!

my 1st attempt at video blogging

The other night after the KISS seminar, I got the opportunity to get some professional video help from the one and only, bui brothers.

Ok, one thing I learned today while editing. Make sure you wipe your camera. I noticed a huge piece of dust on the lens. Oops!

Helen and I headed down to Balboa Island to walk around. It's really a beautiful town, especially at sunset. Well, I hope you enjoy my short video. Don't knock my poor attempt, it's a work in progress.

Wedding at the Jonathan Club

This past weekend, I shot another fantastic wedding with [b]ecker. We knew it would be a fun day, since we shot the groom's brother's wedding 5 weeks ago at the Ritz Carlton. Everyone made us feel so welcomed and this might be a bit overboard on photos, but it was really hard to pick out the ones that I didn't like. So here are my favorites from the day.

One of my favorites of the day!

How often do you get a chance to shoot on the rooftop of the Jonathan Club?

The guys relaxed and hanging out on the rooftop of the Jonathan Club

The beautiful ladies rockin' the purple.

A great moment before they exchange rings.

Married!

We took them back to the rooftop at sunset. The golden light reflected off the buildings is insane!

Details of the Jonathan Club.

How cool is it that the USC marching band gave a little performance after the welcome toast?

The groom was a bit choked up when he spoke about his bride.

Here's the best man giving his speech from the couples perspective.

Such a cool cake! I believe that's white chocolate, strawberries and raspberries.

Checkout where the bride was throwing her bouquet.

Everyone was out on the dance floor having a great time and we became surrounded. Let's play find [b]ecker.

I borrowed [b]ecker's fisheye lens for this shot. I rarely use it, but it's great when you have a room like this to shoot in.

Kay's Baby Shower : Version Helen Au 1.0

A few weeks back while I was away shooting a wedding, Helen attended Kay's baby shower. You will all probably remember Kay from her maternity session I shot back in June. From what I can tell, it looked to be a beautiful day and baby shower. Unfortunately the photographer that shot these photos (Helen Au) wanted me to write about the event even if I wasn't there. So, that means you'll have to look at the pictures like I did and figure it out. I think overall the pink theme works.. and umm.. I love fruit tarts!

Also, I'm so proud of the shots Helen took and she took them all with our point and shoot. Who says a point and shoot with a little photoshop can't make awesome images?

You can read more about Kay's baby shower on her blog HERE

Oh come on! I have to give myself some credit.. insert pat on the back for me here..
