Taing Family

On my last week in Connecticut, I had the opportunity to spend a few hours with a very special family. Just like my family, it's not everyday that they're all together. But, they were on this day because of Jake & LeeLee's wedding the day before. Of course again, Connecticut gave me some killer overcast light or I should say Massachusetts, since that's where we shot the session. Yes, I'm being sarcastic. Not the best light for photos, but I think it came out great either way.

Taing family, thank you again for welcoming Helen and I into your home. We had so much fun hanging out with all of you.

Here are some highlights from the day.

The new addition to the family. Isn't she cute?

Sisters.

The family.

The siblings wanted to have some fun after the portraits.

Rockin' the black & white.

Yeah, I'm as shocked as you are that I had to wait in line 3 hours for my 3G iPhone!

I love all your photographs. I was wondering if you have any advice on what type of camera/lens to buy for an amateur who wants to take quality pictures? Thanks.

Hi anonymous, it really just depends on your budget. I think every camera now and days does a great job. If you can get the fancy gear, then go for it. But what I think is good to start out with is maybe a Canon Rebel XSi body and a prime lens like a Canon 50 1.4

I'm a Canon guy so I'm being biased.
