The following day after their wedding, Scott & Esther performed the traditional korean Paebaek Ceremony. In this ceremony, the groom’s family symbolically accepts the bride, and she pledges to honor her new family. Their silk wedding costumes called "Hanboks" are so detailed and intricate, it's very beautiful to see in person. I'll explain more of the ritual in the photos below.
Before I forget, I will be extending my stay here in Connecticut due to a few loose ends I need to take care of. I'll be here until July 12th now. Any photographers wanna meet up for lunch? Ok, on to some of my favorites from the day.

A few details.

These kids were having so much fun outside before the ceremony.

The grand entrance!

More details of their "Hanboks"

In the tradition, they both have to bow to their parents with their foreheads touching the ground.

Esther's parents.

This is the fun part of the ceremony as you can see. Both of their parents gets an opportunity to throw dates and chestnuts. The dates represents boys and the chestnuts girls. The more they land in, the more kids they'll have.

One of my favorites!

I guess you can call this "Sealing the deal!" by sharing a date.

The ceremony ends with the groom giving the bride a piggy back ride, which shows his strength and commitment

These are the chestnuts and dates that were on target. Oh man that's gonna be a lot of kids!

The ducks are tired and ready to take a nap!

:-D It looked like Scott's parents were having WAY too much fun!!! Great synopsis of the ceremony; I've never been to one, and now I know what to expect.
