Jake & LeeLee : Wedding

It has been such a crazy busy time since I've been back home in Connecticut. A whole lot of visiting friends and family, which makes my trip here more fun. What makes it even better, is that on July 4th, I shot the wedding of Jake & LeeLee in Connecticut. Of course again, the weather wasn't nice to us, bringing us rain on their wedding day. It almost made it impossible to take photos outside, but when the rain stopped for a few minutes, we made a run for it and worked it out.

Jake & LeeLee have known each other ever since they can remember. They are both into music and in fact they can sing very well and play the guitar, but we didn't get any special performances that day. I'm almost at a lost for words right now, because it's hard to describe two people that are so meant for each other, that when you meet them, you just know. I think I'll just leave it at that. Congrats again to you both and thanks for making us feel like part of the family!

I'm actually packing right now to head back to sunny California. My time here was fun, but there's no place like home! Oh and I have a few more things that I will blog when I get back including a really cool family session, so check back for that.

Here are a few of my favorites from the day. I must warn you there are a lot of photos. Maybe I should have warned you first.

Details of the church.

LeeLee writing Jake a little note before they got "hitched".

Lovin' the dress.

I decided to do a little off camera lighting this time. I think it worked.

Married!

A little quiet time after the ceremony.

Well since they both love music..

From the balcony of the church. Just love that warm light.

Details of "Woodwinds".

We only had a few minutes till it started raining again!

The boys and girls.

First dance.

It's tradition in the culture to greet every table and thank them for coming. As much as I enjoy this part of the wedding, I love it even more when the guests makes the bride and groom do something crazy before they give them a wedding gift. You'll see what I'm talking about below.

Sometimes they'll strap the envelopes on a guys leg, with another guy popping out from under trying to kiss you, all while you are trying to get the envelopes with your teeth.

Or maybe they'll blind fold you, have you feel peoples faces until you find your groom. I love how Jake was in on it. I don't think the puffy cheeks worked.

Or maybe they'll tie some food on a string and make you go after it. I only showed the end result, I think my blog is to pg13, but you can use your imagination on where they were putting it. Cherries in the 2nd photo is always a good one. But do you think everyone is safe? No, they'll even go as far as making your parents kiss!

I love his reaction here in the "father daughter dance".

After that, it was all partying including using as many props as possible. YMCA with big hands? Sure..

We ended the night with the traditional tea ceremony.

Sunny Connecticut!
