iPhone 3G

Well it's finally great to be back home in the OC. I sure missed the great food and weather here. Helen and I spent all day today unpacking and getting reorganized. As much as I complain about traveling, I love every minute of going to new places and shooting.

Ok on to my iPhone 3G experience. I'll share mine and hopefully someone out there will share their experience. So I was in Connecticut when I got my iPhone 3G. As most of you know, my Motorola Q "Smart Phone" just was terrible. I decided awhile back not to get the 1st generation iPhone due to so many people saying there would be issues blah blah, but I'm glad I waited.

Helen and I arrived on release day at 8:30am keeping in mind that the Apple store opened at 8:00am. When we got there, there was a huge line of about 100 or so people. As we're standing in line patiently waiting, people that worked at the Apple store walked around giving out smart waters, brownies and coffee! That made our 3 hour wait less painful. When it was finally our turn, we got everything all set, but my existing number wouldn't transfer over. It took the person who was helping us 2 hours to get it all setup. Good thing they walked around giving out pizza for us to eat. Seriously.

For those who went out and got the iPhone you know that iTunes was flooded and it took me an extra hour to get my phone setup. So I am gonna guess total time was 6 hours total to get my phone and use it.

Was it worth it you ask? Yes!!! This is by far the best phone i've owned. I can't wait to see what kind of applications comes out for the iPhone 3G. The navigation is really great and internet speed is pretty quick. I heard now that where I bought my iPhone, it completely sold out the next day. I guess most of the iPhones will end up on ebay.

Anyone else wait a really long time in line to get your iPhone 3G?
